I prefer my otps not to become canon (but not die either). As a writer and reader in fanfiction, I found it less challenging and not fun anymore when my otps finally are dating or get married (but just kissing or teasing is ok). It always makes me like, “So, they’re couple now. What should I do next?” I found stories of my otps in their married life with their kids are boring and have no chance to develop their interaction into potential romance since the goal has been achieved.
Maybe that’s why when my otps became canon, I tend to not read further fanfic about them. This is also why I am still loyal with WildeHopss (Zootopia) and TiPo (Kung Fu Panda).
